30 November 2008 - Singapore Airlines will continue its limited, twice-daily, service between Singapore and U-Tapao to help customers, stranded by the closure of Suvarnabhumi Airport, return to Singapore and other Singapore Airlines gateways.
Singapore Airlines flights to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport remain suspended until further notice. So twice-daily flights will continue to operate between U-Tapao and Singapore till at least Wednesday (3 December) while Suvarnabhumi Airport remains closed.
Customers are advised, though, to be patient. Facilities at U-Tapao are basic, and stretched as several airlines are now operating from there. This is causing lengthy delays.
Singapore Airlines operated two flights from U-Tapao yesterday, and another two will operate today. In addition, SilkAir has been mounting additional flights from Phuket and Chiang Mai. Demand is heavy for these flights.
Singapore Airlines customers still in Bangkok whose travel plans have been disrupted, should call Singapore Airlines on +66-2 353 6000 or +65 6223 8888 and provide contact details, so the Airline can try to accommodate their need to travel within the next few days.
